Texas, Campbell Win Big in Toronto 4-2

It only took Texas two games to get Jack Campbell his first professional win. The Stars got an astounding performance from their rookie netminder, aided by Taylor Vause's first pro goal and a great night from Mike Hedden. Texas never trailed in the game, jumping out to a two goal lead. Campbell locked it down though as Texas collected their 28th win of the season and Campbell's first pro win.

Taylor Vause got it started in the first period with his first professional goal. A turnover by Toronto was collected by Mike Hedden and snapped home by Vause in the twelfth minute of the game. Texas would lead 1-0 after the first depite being outshot 11-5 in the period.

Mike Hedden's strong game continued in the second as he picked up his 13th of the year in front of almost two dozen friends and family members in town to see him play. Hedden's goal extended the lead to 2-0 for Texas early in the second period.

Jack Campbell continued his stellar play early in the third, making all kinds of saves off turnovers by Texas. Mike Zigomanis and Ryan Hamilton buzzed the net early in the period but it was Campbell coming up big to keep the goose egg. Toronto finally broke free though with a goal from Marcel Mueller.

The Stars regained their two goal lead late in the third with Matt Fraser's 31st of the season. Off a scramble in front, Fraser's goal came with assists from Travis Morin and Scott Glennie. Texas's goal came on just their third shot of the period. Overall in the period, they were outshot 15-6.

Francis Wathier closed things out with an empty net goal in the dying minutes to make it 4-2. Campbell finished with 32 saves on 34 shots.
