After 65 minutes of no scoring, the Crunch and Stars combined for seven goals in the shootout with Syracuse coming out on top. Texas managed to earn a point but could not gain the second this evening.

The Stars managed 15 shots in the first to the Crunch's 3. A total of 12 power plays between the two teams ultimately came up fruitless for both. Through the AHL's stats rules, both J-P Levasseur and Richard Bachman will get a shutout on their record.

In the shootout, Gagnon, Rallo and Seceviour bested Levasseur. However, four of five Syracuse shooters beat out Bachman, who made 25 saves in regulation and OT.
