Stars come from behind, beat Ads in SO 3-2

To emphasize what I just wrote in the title, I am going to say it again. The Texas Stars came from behind at the 2nd intermission and beat a team. Texas, down 2-1 in the 2nd intermission tallied their first W in 21 such situations with the shootout win tonight in Milwaukee. Texas is now 1-18-1-1 when trailing after two and is the last team to complete such a come-from-behind victory in the entire AHL, doing so in the 75th game of the season.

Matt Climie got the start in net tonight. Aaron Gagnon scored first for Texas as Colton Sceviour and Luke Gazdic forced a Milwaukee turnover. Gagnon scored unassisted and Texas would take the lead to the locker room in the 1st period.

Dave Scatchard would have a part in both Ads tallies in the 2nd period. Scatchard scored shorthanded during Triston Grant's tripping minor early in the period. It was only the 8th Texas shorthanded goal against on the year. It was also scored unassisted. Ten minutes later, Jonathon Blum beat Climie on a cross-ice pass from Mike Santorelli. The Stars were down 2-1 at the second intermission.

Aaron Gagnon scored again for the Texas Stars in the 3rd period, beating Chet Pickard on a backhand shot to tie it at 2. Texas made it to overtime and survived a minor penalty to Perttu Lindgren to go to the shootout. Sceviour, Gagnon, and Morin scored for Texas and Matt Climie stopped 3 of 5 to preserve the win. Texas is now 5/9 in games decided in the shootout.

And so ends the horrible dreaded 7-game road trip. Could Texas have asked for a more successful trip? The Stars went 6-1-0-0, including two wins over division leading Chicago. They also clinched a playoff berth for the first time in team history. Texas is 8-2-0-0 in their last ten and has won four straight, all on the road. Now they travel home to face San Antonio twice (6-4-0-0), Houston (8-1-0-1), and Rockford (6-1-0-0). I think it's going to be a good home stretch for Texas.
